Paignton Zoo

Paignton Zoo is just outside of Torquay and is handy for Exeter, Plymouth, with 80 acres packed with natural habitats for over a thousand different species of plants and animals. Open from 10:00 am every day of the year except Christmas day, Paignton Zoo has a range of habitat zones, each modelled on a different environment. Aside from the huge range of animals to be seen at the zoo, there are also regular events throughout the year.

All of the keepers share a passion for the animals and the zoo's ethos of education and conservation. There is a dedicated, purpose built education centre where you can pick up activity packs and learn about the work the zoo does in the family activity centre.

Partnered with Paignton Zoo is Torquay's Living Coasts, a zoo and aquarium on the harbour front. With a range of outdoor habitats for various marine animals and a huge range of indoor exhibits showcases aquatic environments from around the UK and the world. On top of this are activity and play areas for children and the new Discovery Zone which has an innovative interactive floor and 'penguin academy' simulations.
