Pecorama Devon

For those who love railways, there is Pecorama at Beer, which is a train themed adventure park, with miniature railway (7¼") run by a fleet of custom built steam and diesel locomotives. As well as activity areas, mazes and playgrounds for the children, most of which are under easy observation from the picnic area, there is a crazy golf course, a restaurant, an aviary and a series of gorgeous and unusual millennium gardens. Throughout the summer there is a constant stream of live performances at the outdoor theatre.

However, the main draw is the model railway exhibition. Pecorama is operated by Peco, one of the world's foremost makers of model railway components, from rolling stock to scenery and the exhibition shows off some of the products they have made over more than 60 years. And for those who hanker for the golden age of the railways, there is a cafe in an authentic Orion Pullman car.
