Budleigh Salterton
Budleigh Salterton beach stretches over 2km. It is a pebble beach with an esplanade. The beach is well suited to range of activities including swimming, sea canoeing, fishing and snorkelling.
The beach at Budleigh Salterton is good for swimming because of the depth of water; it has a steep shelf into deep water and has a slight east/west tidal flow. It is difficult however, for people who are less physically able. In high surf conditions the waves can become very dangerous.
There are red cliffs at the western end of the beach. The beach is famous for its large smooth pebbles, which are a definitive feature of the World Heritage Coastline. The town of Budleigh Salterton has all amenities including, cafes, restaurants, shops and public toilets.
Dogs : Between 1st May to 30th September dogs are banned from the main beach.
Parking: There is around 300 car parking spaces at the eastern end of the beach.
