Jurassic Coast -
How about a truly historic experience coupled with a trip to the seaside? England's only World Natural Heritage Site runs for a large portion of the east Devon coastline, The Jurassic Coast. There are some absolutely stunning views, gorgeous towns and what is considered the birthplace of paleontology. There are regular double decker buses, running the length of the Jurassic Coast, allowing you to take in the spectacular scenery.

For those who want to go fossil hunting, Charmouth is the ideal location. In fact the coast by Charmouth is one of the best places for fossils in the world. The visitors centre does ask that visitors follow a code of conduct, but they do encourage hunting for fossils as long as you are careful and don't damage the cliffs.
